Finding a local internet marketing company who can best service your needs can be tricky. Here are a few tips to help you identify the “players” vs the “posers,” which will make your life a lot easier in the very near future.

  1. GOOGLE:  Lets say you’re looking for a Denver SEO to help with your 2011 business. If you’re solicited by a SEO Agency Google something like “Denver SEO” or “SEO Denver” and see if they show up – if not…. How can you expect them to get your website ranked if they cannot do it for themselves?
  2. ASK FOR REFERENCES: A Reputable SEO Company should have no problem giving you 3-5 references. If there’s any hesitation in this you should probably look elsewhere.
  3. CASE STUDIES: See if they can provide you with examples of work that they’ve done along with any progress reports for traffic and keyword strategies.
  4. FOOTER SPAM: If at all during any of the above you see any of their clients with footer spam (i.e. Powered by Denver SEO) or some other variation of spam that requires the client to link back to the SEO Company.
  5. Google them: If the SEO Firm has any sort of reputation at all it will be on Google. If you cannot find anything on the company you should seek SEO services els-ware as they are probably not established in what they do.

Following these simple and seemingly obvious tips to screening a SEO Company will save your business $ and longterm headaches. Thats it for now! Happy Hunting.

Domain Name Registration Lengths – How it affects SEO

Filed under: SEO — admin @ 2:32 am

Written by: Mack

Domain Name Registration lengths seem to be a hot topic that companies like GoDaddy.com, Inc are taking advantage of. I recently spoke to a GoDaddy sales representative regarding bulk domain name registration; the pitch – registering your domain names for multiple years will help with SEO – but will it?

It’s a good thing for 1and1 domain name clients that to date there is no evidence that domain name registration lengths affect SEO – in fact, Google’s Matt Cutts mentioned in a interview that he was unaware that Google puts any importance at all on domain name registration lengths. This might come as music to the ears to the millions of 1and1 domain name clients who are muffled by 1and1’s restrictions to have multiple year domain name registrations.

There you have it in a nutt shell… its a good bet that Google DOES NOT put into their ranking factors domain name registration lengths
