3 Ideas to make money when you’ve been laid off – 2 don’t work

Filed under: Business News — admin @ 8:56 pm

It blows my mind to see how many people fall into ‘Get Rich’ schemes even when their conscious is pounding on the inside of their head to steer clear.

Here are 3 common ways people tell you that you can make money – two of which are a waste of time and money.

  1. Pyramid Schemes (i.e. Travel Websites, Avon, Wine Party’s etc…)
  2. Get Rich Quick Online (i.e. Google Adsense)
  3. Start your own business

Most likely you can guess which one works but let’s first touch on which ideas don’t work and why.

1st – Pyramid Schemes: This is a tactic that everyone is almost too familiar with that comes packaged in a pretty nice pink box with lots of ‘opportunities’ to get rich quick – most of which require you to dip in some kind of investment that never pays off. If your running low on cash, or looking to make some decent money, avoid Pyramid schemes like you do the line at the local grocery store with the lady dragging 4 cartfuls of food.

Domain Name Registration Lengths – How it affects SEO

Filed under: SEO — admin @ 2:32 am

Written by: Mack

Domain Name Registration lengths seem to be a hot topic that companies like GoDaddy.com, Inc are taking advantage of. I recently spoke to a GoDaddy sales representative regarding bulk domain name registration; the pitch – registering your domain names for multiple years will help with SEO – but will it?

It’s a good thing for 1and1 domain name clients that to date there is no evidence that domain name registration lengths affect SEO – in fact, Google’s Matt Cutts mentioned in a interview that he was unaware that Google puts any importance at all on domain name registration lengths. This might come as music to the ears to the millions of 1and1 domain name clients who are muffled by 1and1’s restrictions to have multiple year domain name registrations.

There you have it in a nutt shell… its a good bet that Google DOES NOT put into their ranking factors domain name registration lengths

PHP 301 REDIRECT

Filed under: PHP / LINUX — admin @ 7:08 pm

Written by: TechNut

PHP 301 REDIRECTS are easier than you think and according to Google and other search engines 301 redirects are safe ways to redirect pages that have moved as well as an entire website if needed. Here is the quick way to implement a 301 PHP Redirect safely in your website. For those who are not too familiar with PHP it’s best to remove all HTML in the php file you create.

<?
Header( “HTTP/1.1 301 Moved Permanently” );
Header( “Location: http://www.new-url.com” );
?>
